Areas of Practice:

Soraya specialises in civil matters, including commercial and intellectual property law. Her main area of interest is music law as she has a background in the music industry. She has also acted for clients in other areas of intellectual property including internet domain name disputes which are often cross-jurisdictional. Soraya is experienced in international law and has trained judges in Croatia and Montenegro. She has also trained academics in Russia. She is a consultant to the OSCE and a legal expert to the UN. Other areas of practice are ancillary relief and immigration.

Soraya is a legal expert in Albanian and East European cross-jurisdictional law. She accepts instructions on a single and on a Single Joint Expert basis as an expert witness.

Notable Cases

Badmos v D & K Freight Services Ltd. Soraya was successful in defending this cross- jurisdiction, contractual matter which involved elements of bailment, shipping and aviation law.

R v Torres a.k.a Da Souza in which Soraya successfully represented an individual who had been wrongfully arrested and falsely imprisoned by the police.

Personal Interests

Soraya enjoys playing the guitar and going to music events. She also enjoys the arts and reading. She is a keen horsewoman and enjoys skill at arms on horseback, which involves the practice of mediaeval military combat. Soraya is also a sabre fencer.

Languages include: French to a professional level, German and a working knowledge of Spanish and Italian.
